As your parish church we are here for the times of joy as well as times of sadness. In the rich tapestry of life, we are here when a loved one dies and you need to plan a funeral. You may want a quiet service at the Crematorium; you may want a service in church. We can help you plan all of those things with your Funeral Director.
A Church of England funeral is available to everyone, churchgoer or not. Our aim is to support you before, during and after the service, for as long as it may be needed.
The message at all Church of England funerals, wherever they happen, is one of hope. Although there is sadness because someone you know and love has died, in every Church of England funeral there will also be a message of hope in life after death.
When you need to arrange a funeral for a loved-one, simply advise your funeral director that you would like a priest from Guildford St Nicolas to take the service. The Rector or a colleague will visit you to help you plan the service according to the family’s wishes.
Fr Neil would be very pleased to give you advice if you are thinking about choosing hymns and prayers for your own funeral. You can contact him by email or telephone the parish office. Or click here for a helpful guide to arranging a funeral in the Church of England.
FEES FOR FUNERALS are set by the Church of England nationally and are normally arranged and paid through the funeral director.
